January 13th 2017- Lesson 1 - "Is the Great American Teacher Dead?"

"Is the Great American Teacher Dead?"

Teaching may be consider like a rewarding career, passion, constant learning and inspiring classes may help us to cause and effect in others which is basically the main purpose of becoming one.

Dutch Anthropologist, Rix Pinxten also felt that the American intellectual and intellectual discourse at university was, for all intents and purposes, dead. It is revealing to learn that from the people who have studied the matter for long in USA, In Peru, may be happening the same, Before you used to study a lot to apply and be accepted to a National University, now, We have many universities and with a varied price, you do not need to apply with an exam, you just pay the fee and take an exam and pass. Teaching is not reflected in the kind of students the universities are graduating.

Would that be the result of a romantic teacher?, Most of the graduates, jump into the work market to face a hard reality, they do not have the enough preparation to meet the requirements for the Job, Most of the people study to make money. In the classroom, they just pass the classes without being inspired to become better. As David E. Purpel criticized "If there is no serious connection between education and hunger, injustice, alienation, poverty, and war, then we are wasting our time, deluding each other, and breaking faith”

With the changes that have taken places so far you hardly see any of these:

1. Positive teacher-student relationship
2. A good “delivery”
3. Edifies rather than damages a student’s self-concept
4. Clarity (through the use of
many examples and
stories)
5. Encourages deep and critical thinking
6. Variety instead of monotony (do not forget the TenMinute Rule)
7. Grading and workload is generally perceived to be
fair
8. Enthusiasm and zest for the topic
9. Meaningful to real world problems
10. Potentially transforms one’s world view from one of
uncritical acceptance of cultural dictates to one of
deep, reflective, and compassionate thinking

First the list that now a replicated, it is basically something that I would like to implement in my classroom, to create opportunities in my own classroom to put into practice each one of them, to place into my head the idea of putting into practice. Most of the time I dream about presenting properly, On the other hand, inspiring students may be challenging but when you see many young people coming to you class. You really want to help.
